Under Wisconsin State Law, you may file an objection to your property assessment. The tax rate you are charged is the same for all residents within the district. The amount of real estate tax you pay is determined by the assessment on your property.
If you feel that your property assessment is incorrect; you may appear before the Village of Deerfield Board of Review.
An official “Objection to Property Assessment” form must be completed and returned prior to the Board of Review. These forms are available at the Village Clerk’s office after April 15th.
The 2009 Open Book has been scheduled for September 30, 2009 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and October 1, 2009 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Board of Review is scheduled for October 28, 2009 from 2:30 PM to adjournment. Both the Open Book and Board of Review will be held at the Deerfield Village Hall, 4 N Main Street, Deerfield, WI.
